Up to 8 people will enjoy scones, cucumber sandwiches, and delightful teas--to take place in Spring, date to be arranged with participants.

Come to a beer tasting with a small plate dinner on our deck, looking south over Bellingham Bay. We will serve beers from all local breweries in a variety of styles along with yummy vegetarian food.
After everyone has gathered we’ll serve the first round of brews (three 1 ounce tastes) and an appetizer. We will serve four more rounds, each with a small plate of food. After each round of tasting we will pass judgement on the beers (in an appropriately non-judgmental UU way, of course). Since Claire and I know almost nothing about beer (except that we like it), the intimidation factor should be minimal.
There is one step into the house.

Ever pick up an interesting rock and wonder where it came from? Spend an afternoon with retired geologist Erika Shepard on a walk at Point Whitehorn Marine Reserve to find out. The Reserve hosts a variety of rock types amidst views of the San Juan Islands and wildlife of the Salish Sea. Erika will offer a short geology lesson, then set you free to roam the beach in search of the perfect rock. She will then happily tell you it’s story – how it was formed, how it got there, and what that tells us about our dynamic planet.
The path through the upper part of the Reserve is easy, while the last 90 feet includes a set of stairs down to the beach. Attendees will meet at BUF & carpool to the Reserve. We’ll choose a sunny Saturday in May for this adventure!

Come and enjoy refreshing beverages, delightful canapes from a cadre of gifted cooks, wonderful, live music from Bufsters and others, and engaging Buf friends, in the spacious garden backing on the Klipsun trail and park.

Join a festive garden party and high English tea and cookies at the home of Carl and Pete. Carl will give a tour and botany descriptions. Relax and take in our oasis on the hill.

Come enjoy a variety of reds (with a special treat thrown in) with kindred spirits in our beautiful woodland setting. Listen to burbling Squalicum Creek and hundreds of birds along with live Celtic music played by Kurt Yandell as you sip and enjoy company, cheese and chocolate. $30 pp or $50 per couple. Takes place in afternoon, exact time TBD.

Join Felice and Cleo for a day at the 850 acre Reifel Bird Sanctuary, one of Canada's top 10 bird watching sites and located in Delta, BC. Brown bag lunch and entrance fee included. Will take place in April, exact date TBD. Passport or enhanced license required.

A four-course meal consisting entirely of soups representing at least four different continents, including some, but not all vegetarian. Soups will be accompanied by appropriate breads and wines. And, of course, stimulating conversation.

Four friends: Join us at our place, Sat. March 18, wearing your green: for a visit and Irish music over a pint, an Irish dinner and a movie projected on the big screen: Waking Ned Devine, or the Commitments. Your choice.
