 | The brownest of brown thumbs can grow this biennial (Oenothera) but it should not be grown by everyone. It is an aggressive spreader, which is why I have plants to give away, but it is easy to control by pulling up extra plants. It produces rosettes of leaves the first year and flowers the second when it blooms in May. You will get a clump of rosettes that will yield flowers. | We've lived in Florida and been to Key West but paradise for us is cheeseburgers on the deck with friends right here in North Carolina. Come enjoy both of them (the cheese is optional) as the weather (hopefully) begins to turn from summer to fall. We'll have appetizers, grass-fed ground beef burgers and trimmings, Waldorf salad, some veggie concoction, and a delicious chocolate dessert. Beer, wine, and sparkling water will be available.
