Pysanka - The Art of Ukrainian Egg Decorating
Back by popular demand, the class on Pysanky (the Ukrainian art of decorating eggs), taught at church by 1st generation Ukrainian American Chris Hardin. The history, techniques, and traditions will be shared in this two-hour lecture/workshop. Participants will have over an hour to create their own treasures. Youth over 10 may participate. Chris has taught this class dozens of times throughout central Ohio. Participants will receive a list of items to bring to class (4-6 raw eggs, etc.) and contribute $5 for class supplies: stylus, beeswax, and dyes payable on the day of the class.

Welcome spring with a 7 mile guided hike at Highbanks Metro Park. Explore all the trails and features of Highbanks with a park volunteer. Enjoy about 3 hours of good exercise out in nature.
Visit an 1889 historic home in Powell, then lunch at my home enjoying family recipes, and on to a 1930s' home in Radnor.

Annual Fossil Hike
Experienced amateur geologist/naturalist Steve Molk will lead the group to some Dayton area metro parks in southwest Ohio to find and collect our own Ordovician fossils. Who knows - we might find an elusive trilobite! Possibly includes a stop at Deer Creek State Park for some different fossils. Note CHANGE in season from Spring to Summer!
