MM24 The Fragrant Foods of Vietnam and Cambodia
Invalid Image Link We are again offering you a chance to enjoy the exotic flavors of a Vietnamese/Cambodian dinner at the home of John Friedman and Kristen Figg. You will begin with tropical fruits and lemongrass prawns, then be taught to make your own Vietnamese-style spring rolls. We will then dine on traditional dishes such as sweet and sour green papaya salad, water spinach with beef, and a delicate Cambodian eggplant curry stew. We will finish with caramelized pineapple crêpes and sweet Vietnamese coffee. You will also have a chance to see a few video shots of our cooking lessons in Hue and Saigon.

Our youth work squad of 4-5 volunteers will come to your house and do yard work, wrap all your holiday presents, put up or take down decorations - any project that requires labor but not specialized skills - for 4 hours! Date and time to be arranged with the fortunate buyer with at least two weeks' advance notice. Refreshments appreciated but not required.

MM19 Japanese Sukiyaki Dinner
Invalid Image Link A popular one-pot dish from post Meiji era Japan, our version of sukiyaki offers a little taste of the Far East without having to sit on the floor to enjoy it. You may find the use of chopsticks, although optional, makes this delightful treat a bit more adventuresome. Assorted vegetables and thinly sliced beef (usually artfully arranged on a platter) are cooked by each individual in a common pot of fish-based broth in the center of the table.
