Keep knocking,
and the joy inside
will eventually open a window
and look out
to see who's there.

Local Hiking Experience Ted Brewer will guide you on a hike first to the top of the Tourne, a singular glacially-formed forested pinnacle on the Mountain Lakes - Boonton border and then along nearby Rockaway River in Grace Lord Park to view scenic rapids and Boonton Falls where the river cascades down through a deep gorge. We will also see a short remnant of the historic Morris Canal. The trail up the Tourne is steep in places but is a well-maintained gravel road with many places to stop and rest. The summit provides a panoramic view of the region. The outing will last from two to three hours, including a very short drive between the Tourne and Grace Lord Park. Paterson Walking Tour Paterson, NJ - who’d ever want to walk there? Actually, reasons abound! Alexander Hamilton noted that the Passaic River's immense hydraulic energy could power industries in the earliest days of our republic. His vision created Paterson as America’s first planned industrial city. There are fascinating remnants of the raceway system built to divert water to mills and factories, plus historic structures reflecting Paterson's industrial heritage. You'll see the Great Falls, one of New Jersey’s premier natural wonders and the heart of a rapidly-improving national park. Ted Brewer will lead you on a walking tour of these sites. If possible, he will also take you through the Paterson Museum in the mill district, where you'll view goods, machines and artifacts made in the city, from a Wright Whirlwind radial aircraft engine, of the type that powered Lucky Lindy's solo Atlantic flight, to a primitive iron submarine. Storied Hinchliffe Stadium near the Great Falls may also be visited. Ted will cover the museum admission charge. On Saturday April 24, 2021, 11 am, or a mutually agreeable date in Spring 2021. 8 0 000000.0 1,000,000 .0003E7 30 4/24/21 11:00 AM N N N N N

Story Slam: A literary and arts salon, with musical and literary selections
Invalid Image LinkInvalid Image Link
Join us for an evening of Zoom storytelling! You can share your own story or be entertained by other’s stories. If you want to read a story, or tell a story with music or dance, sign up for Story Slam! Your name will be placed in a hat and performers will be randomly drawn. You will have 5 minutes (warning at 4 minutes, gong at 5!) to share your talents, original composition, or written work. If you want to just come listen and be entertained, you are also welcome!" Couple notes: We are not pre-screening the selections, so keep in mind: 1. This will be a PG-13 event, so probably not appropriate for young children. 2. Funny is great, "adult language" is fine, personal attacks and rants contrary to our values are not. We will mute or drop people if we find content inappropriate, at the discretion of the hosts. 3. What happens in the salon stays in the salon. This will be a one time, live only event - no recording or posting after the event. Home-cured Gravlax Gravlax is a Nordic dish of salmon cured in a mix of sugar and salt, seasoned with dill, juniper berries and black pepper. Gravlax is usually served as an appetizer, breakfast, or with a salad; sliced thinly and accompanied by a dill and mustard sauce, cream cheese or sour cream, either on crackers, rye bread, bagels, or with boiled potatoes. Traditional hovmästarsås (Maître d’s sauce) is included with the Gravlax.

In this home-cured version, following a time-tested recipe, salmon is turned into gold by the action of the dry curing brine. Two pounds of salmon filet are cured yielding approximately one and one-half pounds of gravlax, enough for a large crowd. The gravlax will last for a week to ten days from delivery, which will be made by arrangement with at least one week’s notice. Ideal for New Year’s Day breakfast.

Properly Aged Beer B I have a collection of 40+ boxes of beer that have been aging in my cellar for anywhere from 3-16 years. Each box (12 bottles) will have a mix of styles (stouts, sours, barleywines, wild ales) and vintages from breweries in the US and around the world. As with any aged product, there are no guarantees as to quality, but I personally taste bottles from this collection regularly with high quality results. I expect your experience to be similar provided they are properly stored before consumption. Available for contactless delivery on mutually agreed upon dates. 2 0 000100.0 100 .0005E7 50 N N N N N

Dancewalk

Join me for a dancewalk!
Here is my inspiration:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ib3Duz_6a9M

I have been going on dancewalks since June in a local park. I made a good playlist, get on my headphones and get my groove on! I play some funk to get down, some Broadway to have some big moments and some 80s alternative because I am me.

We will do the same as a group, with some example of what you might like to do while you're dancing, but it is a freeform event! You need to have a smartphone and headphones for broadcasting, and I usually go for about 90 minutes. You can always rest if needed.

We will meet at the park I have been using (Joe Palia Park in Ocean Township) or pick one more centrally located once everyone signs up. Tentative date in April as below, might reschedule if weather is an issue.
