Rare Aged Pu-Erh Tea Brick from Planet Tea House
Invalid Image LinkInvalid Image Link
A dense and fragrant Hong Hong style cave-aged pu-erh tea brick produced circa 1990 in Yunnan China from ancient wild tea trees, displayed in a handsome wooden box. This tea should be steeped multiple (10+) times. Each steeping reveals a unique progression of tastes and aromas - uncommonly creamy, sweet, and clean for an aged tea. Character will continue to improve as it ages. Pu-erh teas combine the health benefits of probiotics and fresh tea. 1 1 000150.0 150 .0005E7 50

Take a Hike! Then wine about it.
Invalid Image LinkInvalid Image Link
Come join us for a moderate, 3 to 4 mile hike at Bottom Creek Gorge Conservation Preserve, to view the 2nd largest waterfall in Virginia. Bottom Creek is a powerful mountain stream that forms a stair-step series of broad-basin waterfalls known as "The Kettles."  Flanking Bottom Creek are forests of mixed hardwoods (tulip poplar, maple, oak, hickory) and upland meadows. Bottom Creek Gorge also contains virgin hemlocks and hundreds of wildflowers and is located right here in Montgomery County.

After the hike, we will drive one mile to Amrheins Winery for wine tasting and a gourmet picnic on the veranda, while enjoying the serenity and beauty Bent Mountain has to offer. Lisa Evanylo and Sarah Divers (formerly Burnett) will be your hosts, trail guides, chauffeurs and chefs. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to hike your way to a good wine!

Included:
transportation to and from the UU parking lot (depart 9:30 AM, return ?)
water and trail mix for hike
wine tasting
gourmet picnic

Time Travel Cabaret Is that really Tony Bennett singing over there? Am I in a 1920's speakeasy? Was that a flapper dress? Is this a private room in Vegas in the 60's? Are we in Paris? Who is that woman in the slinky red sheath? Is this uptown New York in the 40’s?

I know one thing...we're not in Kansas any more.

Look around - the men are sporting tuxedos, or nearly so, and the women are dolled up in glad rags. The piano player (Can you believe it? It’s Jared Gibbs!) is covering all my favorite songs. Wow! They're asking if anyone would like to solo. Ooh, my big chance! And they even have song sheets if you can't remember all the words.

Did you see the table with elegant finger food from hors d'oeuvres through dessert? Wine, beer, and set-ups are being served by a classy bartender; I heard he’ll mix special drinks for patrons with a BYOB flask.

I can only be in one place - the Time Travel Cabaret.

Word is that this elegant rip in the fabric of the universe will take place in real time at 6:30 PM, on Saturday evening, February 1, at 1801 Brush Mountain Circle.

The Time Travel tour attendants are Carl Pfeiffer, Linda Pfeiffer, Dick Bauman, Pat Traynor, Brigitte Flowers, and Jim Flowers.

A Quiet Day for 6, with Lunch and Berries On a date to be decided in late July 2014, at the height of blackberry season, the winner and up to 5 adults of the winner's choosing will enjoy a day in the exurbs at my house in Pembroke. No TV. Internet access will be disabled for the day. Leave the cell phones in the cars. Pick and keep the day's berry yield (the peak day in 2013 yielded 2.5 gallons of blackberries). Sit out in the shade, weather permitting. Walk the 11-circuit Chartres-style labyrinth mowed into the lawn. Fight over the hammock. Walk up to a scenic overlook of the New River about a mile away, if it is still open to the public then. A three-course cold luncheon for all is included. Arrive after 9:00 am, depart by 4:30 pm. Relax and decompress in between. Other possibilities (fees not included in this item) include a public pool a quarter mile away.

One person wins and pays for this event, and then invites up to 5 others to join them for it.

Help with cleaning and organizing at your place. You know how hard it is to clean or organize at your own home? I sure do. But I can really get efficient at someone else's house!! 4 hours working together will make a dent in your list of things you'd rather put off, but might be more fun if someone helped. We can clean out that closet or start in the piles of stuff in your garage. We can empty your kitchen cabinets, clean them out and only put back the things you REALLY want. The list is endless . . . like the list of usual household chores. And, don't worry, I'm a retired social worker and therapist. I'm used to being sworn to secrecy. 2 0 000050.0 50 .00015E7 15
