Jim Gaffigan at the Paramount Two tickets for Jim Gaffigan at the Paramount
Friday, May 3, 7:00 pm
2 Row B (second row), Seats 7 & 8
Value: $282.50 (Selling online on some sites for more than double that price!!)

Life is better when you’re laughing. Enjoy two second row seats at Jim Gaffigan’s “Quality Time Tour” at The Paramount, Friday, May 3, 7:00 p.m. The Grammy nominated comedian, actor, writer, producer, two-time New York Times best-selling author, top touring performer, and multi-platinum-selling father of five, is best known for his unique brand of humor which revolves around his observations of ordinary life and fatherhood.
In December of 2014, Gaffigan became one of only ten comics in history to sell out Madison Square Garden. In 2016, Forbes named him one of the world’s highest grossing comedians, and Pandora recently announced that he’s the most popular comic among its users with over 647 million spins to date. In addition to his own television show, widely popular stand-up comedy and best-selling books, Gaffigan has guest starred on television comedies and dramas, ranging from Portlandia and The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt to HBO’s cult hits Flight of the Concords and Bored to Death to dramatic roles in all three versions of Law & Order. On the silver screen, his credits include Three Kings, Hot Pursuit, Super Troopers, and 17 Again among others. Gaffigan currently lives in Manhattan with his wife Jeannie and their five children.

Idyllic Vermont Summer Vacation

Nestled under pine trees, with a creek bubbling past, our Vermont house will wrap you in comfort and beauty as you explore the Green Mountains of Southern Vermont. It is located in Wardsboro, about 5 miles from Mt. Snow. Hike, swim in natural swimming holes, play golf, climb a mountain or bike down Mt. Snow, take the kids to Bromley Mountain's extensive summer recreation area, drive scenic Route 100, shop the outlets in Manchester, or just sit by the creek with a good book. Our flat near-acre is perfect for games.Tell ghost stories or toast marshmallows over a stone fire pit set next to the creek.
An open floor plan creates plenty of living and dining space. A sunken great room with wet bar has a stove for chilly nights. The fully equipped kitchen has a breakfast bar. Have family meals in the adjacent dining room. There is WiFi. Sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms upstairs, 2 with2 queen beds and 1 with 2 bunk beds. Master bedroom has its own private half bath. Cozy, Old World Lasagna Dinner Although we are not Italian we learned of this old family recipe from our beloved Italian grocer Rufus J. in the mid-60s. "Ruffy" would cook in his small kitchen in the back of the store. This hard won recipe took years for Rufus to divulge and rightly so. We cajoled it out of him bit by bit and it was worth all the wait.

Join us in our home for a filling Southern Italian meal straight from the mean streets of Queens: red wine, an antipasto platter, salad, crunchy bread, old world lasagna and a yummy Italian dessert.

Date in spring of 2019 TBD by group.

Family Holiday Fun at the New Victory Theatre
Invalid Image LinkInvalid Image Link
Celebrate the holiday week off from school in The Big Apple with your UUFH friends! We have a block of 20 balcony tickets (there is not a bad seat in the house!) to see Circus Abyssinia: Ethiopian Dreams at 2PM at The New Victory Theatre on 42nd Street and we'll enjoy lunch before the show at John's Pizza down the block. Visit the New Victory website for a 360 degree, panoramic tour of the newly renovated theatre and a video preview of the show.

The group will take the LIRR from Huntington to Penn Sta. around 10:30AM (children under 5 are free, 5 to 11 are $1 each, 12 and above pay adult fare). The New Vic is a not for profit, educational, public theatre and there will be interactive activities going on in the lobby prior to the show. There are free locker facilities for storing heavy coats and backpacks. We will pay for the show tickets and for the standard pizza lunch. You will pay for your train tickets and any special meals or activities after the show. We can return home as a group, or families can venture off to visit Rockefeller Center, walk the High Line, or pursue their own city adventures after the show.

We know you will enjoy it as we have wonderful memories of past performances we saw there with Matt and his grandmother when we were New Vic members.

Dinner at Moosewood
Invalid Image LinkSold
Invalid Image Link
Remember Moosewood? The vegetarian restaurant was founded in 1973 in upstate Ithaca, NY, making this its 45th year! The hippie-years spot was one of the first farm-to-table restaurants, promoting healthy, natural eating, and Bon Appétìt named it one of the most influential restaurants of the 20th century. Its earliest cookbooks featured handwritten recipes and sketches by Mollie Katzen and have been named some of the best-selling cookbooks of all time by the New York Times. Our vegetarian dinner selections will be taken from Maria's collection of Moosewood cookbooks and will include appetizers, soup, entrees, sides, breads, and dessert -- along with a special cocktail. We'll eat on the candlelit, covered back patio and it's sure to be another lovely, congenial evening with good friends! 14 0 000025.0 25 .00025E7 25 9/14/19 6:00 PM

Amy amount you choose will be gratefully received.

Are you not finding anything to buy and/or can't attend the Auction? No worries, in fact great news!

A recent survey (absent of any scientific methodology) has show that 98.6 percent of people donating to UUFH get a warm fuzzy feeling that glows all the way through the winter with 32 percent well into the spring. Ralph T. just grunts and gets another cup of coffee.

So, unless you're like Ralph T. this is a great way to feel great!
