P0001 P1 Paddle Raise

Minister's Paddle Raise
Invalid Image LinkInvalid Image Link
The goal for this year's paddle raise is to raise funds for the following, in Rev Karen's own words: "To solidify and deepen the experience and connection of our BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, Persons of Color) folks both with UUFNN and the larger UU community of the UUA, through the opportunity to attend the General Assembly of the UUA in June. General Assembly has been a great support for many UUs in the past as members of UUFNN who have attended GA have deepened their connection to UUism, engaged more fully in our UU faith, and have taken on leadership roles in our community. Due to historic harm done to persons of color in our society and in our organizations, including our own faith community, efforts need to be made toward support, solidarity, and connections with other BIPOC folx. The GA experience can provide a wonderful opportunity for this. In recent times, our UUFNN BIPOC folk have gotten honest about the difficulties and the cost to them of being part of a community with such a small number of BIPOC folk. Supporting them in attending GA is a tangible way to provide support, encouragement, connection, and solidarity.
Donations/bids for this paddle raise will be taken during email bidding and during the live auction and describe in all catalogs.
