Water Skiing and Wine
Invalid Image LinkInvalid Image Link
Join in the fun at Alum Creek. Wine, cheese, veggies, dips (in the lake of course) and beer just might be hidden on board. Often a reluctant crew member is forced into the water by a couple beers, and has the renewed courage to get a lesson or outperform the captain on his slalom ski. A saucer, kneeboard, and maybe even a tube are typically ready for frivolity. Background music by Judy Collins, Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell. Satire from the Capitol Steps should have some Trump trashing by summer. Leave Paul's at 10am, at the South East boat ramp at 11:30, off water at 5pm. Game Night with "Wise and Otherwise," "Codenames"
Invalid Image LinkInvalid Image Link
Have fun with our favorite games, one requiring cultural literacy and imagination, the other cooperation and word association! In "Wise and Otherwise" the object is to correctly identify a proverb or to make up a substitute that appears to be genuine. Enjoy a guessing match that can yield points for skill or simply cause the players to dissolve into laughter. In "Codenames," the object is to prevent political intrigue and disaster by trying to think like your partner. Have fun celebrating tradition while saving the world!

A variety of suitable snacks and drinks will be served to fortify the players. Conveniently located at Kittie and Steve's in exotic Clintonville.

Guided Twilight Swamp Hike in the Mating Season for Fireflies and Chorus Frogs
Invalid Image LinkInvalid Image Link
It's Big Sexy Time in the swamp for Lightning Bugs and Gray Tree Frogs. You see a few fireflies here and there on any summer night but the vast majority of firefly flashes are concentrated for about a week's time in early to mid-June. It's firefly mating season and there is an EXPLOSION of firefly light. The musical accompaniment is provided hundreds of male Gray Tree Frogs on the make. The firefly show starts at around 9:30 and peaks between 10 and 10:30. We will meet in the parking lot at the Wilma Schiermeier, Olentangy River Wetland Research Park, 352 W. Dodridge Street, Columbus, OH and walk the less than a one-mile loop with some longer options. There are thousands of starlings roosting nearby and it is not uncommon to see raccoons, bats, and sometimes owls. Flashlights are discouraged but red lights are fine. We can provide red lights for about 10 people and bug spray. 50 27 .00015E7 15 6/14/19 9:30 PM N N N N
