Authentic Movement for Women: A Safe Place to Express Your Soul "The symbols of the self arise in the depths of the body." ~Carl Jung~ "The universe unfolds in the body, which is its mirror and its creature." ~Octavio Paz~ Authentic Movement (AM) evolved out of dance therapy and Jungian psychology in the 1950s. It is a profoundly simple practice of self-expression in which each participant moves in response to her body's sensations, emotions, memories and innate wisdom. It provides both a gateway to self-awareness and a way to connect to the group's consciousness. Like exploring a dream, even a small part of the experience can harvest a wealth of meaning: buried passions, visions, insights, and the sheer joy of play, which will further inform participant's artistic self-expression. Join us for a magical afternoon of self-expression through movement, writing, chanting and art. This is a 3 hour workshop, wear comfortable clothing. 12 10 .0002E7 20 9/7/13 2:00 PM N N N N

Antique Portable Singer Sewing Machine with Case
Invalid Image LinkInvalid Image Link
The serial number on this old portable Singer sewing machine dates it to 1898, according to the world wide web. It looks like (from on-line pictures) a hand crank model that's been electrified with a foot control, and is well-worn. It may run, but I couldn't make it sew. It needs a new light bulb & maybe some tinkering & TLC, but it's an American Original. 1 1 .0002E7 20 N N N N

Mindful Eating This dinner is for the Buddhist in you. Youth and families are welcomed and encouraged to attend. In the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh, when you walk, you walk. When you talk, you talk. And...when you eat, you eat. In this spirit, we will share a "mindful eating" experience in ceremonial silence. Some readings and reflections will accompany our eating. We will mindfully eat a vegetarian, gluten-free meal. Weather permitting, we may dine out-of-doors. Bring a light jacket, if needed.
