Dinner with Award-Winning Editorial Cartoonist Rob Rogers
Invalid Image LinkSold
Invalid Image Link
After 25 years as the editorial cartoonist for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Rob was fired last year for drawing unflattering cartoons about President Trump. He still wakes up every morning excited to fight the good fight, to afflict the comfortable, to speak truth to power and, yes, to make people laugh with his nationally syndicated cartoons. Rob will join you and 5 other Sunnyhill guests for dinner and discuss his career and the state of politics as we head towards the 2020 election cycle. Each dinner guest will pay $75 (goes to Sunnyhill) to attend, plus cover their own meal at a Mount Lebanon restaurant. The dinner will be set when a date is agreed upon by Rob and the others. 6 0 000075.0 75 .00075E7 75

Civil War Battlefield Tour - Antietam or Gettysburg Paul Lawson, long time Civil War history aficionado, will take your group of two to six on a day trip of either the Gettysburg or Antietam (south of Hagerstown) battlefield. Both trips will include a picnic lunch. Paul is experienced in engaging both history buffs and their family who are not into military trivia with personal and political insights as well as enjoying beautiful natural vistas.

Gettysburg - turning point of the war (along with the fall of Vicksburg, MS). Trip includes short visits to Chambersburg and Carlisle.
Antietam (Sharpsburg) - the victory which allowed Lincoln to issue the Emancipation Proclamation. Includes short visits to Harpers Ferry (in my opinion the prettiest place east of the Mississippi River) and South Mountain.
This trip is for a minimum of two and max of six. We may need to caravan with a second car, if more than 4 people.

A Trip to the Bayernhof Museum and Lunch A Trip to the Bayernhof Museum & Lunch. July 10th

The Bayernhof Museum in O’Hara Township has hundreds of unique world-class music machines in working order. Many will be demonstrated during the 2.5 hour tour (10:00 to 12:30). The collection includes a band organ from a carousel, several forerunners of the juke box, the theater organs which accompanied silent films and many more pre-electronic wonders.
The museum is housed in a replica of a house in Bavaria with hidden passages, a large wine cellar and a small astronomical observatory. (Caution: There are a number of stairways.) It’s a treat for the ears and the eyes – photographers love its exotic appearance.
Jean and Larry will provide transportation from Sunnyhill. Lunch included following the tour at a local restaurant in nearby Sharpsburg/Aspinwall.

Small Wineries, New Varietals Many wines available in our "Fine Wines and Spirits" stores are mass-produced by large corporate winemakers and the quality suffers as a result. Tonight, we will taste wines that are made with hands-on care in smaller, family-owned wineries around the world. We will feature several wines created by women winemakers and go beyond chardonnay and merlot to explore some different varietals and blends, both red and white. Included will be an assortment of cheeses, charcuterie and antipasto to complement the wines, along with some heartier appetizers to round out the menu. We will gather around Nanette’s table to share good wines, good food and good conversation. 10 0 000045.0 45 .00045E7 45 6/15/19 6:30 PM
