A Mad Tea Party
Invalid Image LinkInvalid Image Link
Bearing no resemblance to current political absurdities, this afternoon tea party will feature dramatic readings (by participants) of The Mad Tea Party scene from Lewis Carroll's Alice In Wonderland, as well as several nonsensical Lewis Carroll poems.

Contrary to the March Hare's pronouncement of "No wine!" wine will be served, along with tidbits – unlike those of a traditional British tea, but plentiful, varied and tasty. Costumes will be provided ... or if you like, create your own. And finally ... prizes will be awarded. For example: can you answer the Mad Hatter's riddle: "Why is a raven like a writing desk?" Answer correctly and win a prize.

This was offered in the recent Auctionette, and people have raved about how fun it was.

Sights, Sounds, and Flavors of France Your evening begins with a welcoming libation and appetizer from the celebrated cuisine of Provence. This will be part of a four course French menu inspired by a cooking lesson taken in Vaison-la-Romaine, Provence, France, in June, 2013.

Between courses you will be entertained by a video of a month-long expedition from Nice to Cassis, Provence, Carcassonne, the Loire Valley, Mont St. Michel, the D-Day beaches, and finishing with a visit to the garden of Monet in Giverny. The movie highlights the sights and sounds of France, with background music by the noted French composer, George Delerue and commentary by Bill Ball. I will teach you to center the clay and pull up the walls into your chosen shape (think cup, bowl, mug, vast, etc.) After the clay dries and you have trimmed it, I will fire it to the bisque stage. Then you will return to apply a colorful glaze to ready it for the high temperature firing. Come and play in the mud with Karen!

Many dates are available through October. As an example, one class of two might be on June 7, 14, and 21 at 9 a.m. and another on those dates from 2 - 5 p.m. If two people want to link up, alternate dates are available. I am flexible."

Vacation home in Murphys California
Invalid Image LinkSold
Invalid Image Link
Come and enjoy the Gold Country in the California Foothills! Murphys is an authentic gold rush town, with fabulous shopping, over 20 wineries offering tasting of the local products, and golf at 3 golf courses nearby. Our home is a three bedroom, 2½ bath two-story house in a private setting. The house sleeps 7 upstairs (two queens, one single and one king). Downstairs, a hide-a-bed and screen porch offer beds for 5 more (ideal for kids). Offered for a 2 or 3-night stay. Murphys is a four hour drive from Reno via Highways 88 or 4. Dates are open, but an ideal time to visit would be during the weekend of October 4-5, as the annual Gold Rush Days, complete with grape stomp and street fair, is held that weekend.

The house is completely furnished, including the kitchen; all linens are supplied. There is plenty of parking and a Weber gas barbeque for your use. A large patio with a porch swing affords lovely views of pines, oaks and manzanita, with a nice view of the ancient Table Mountain butte in the distance.

5 Page - Expandable Google Web Site
Invalid Image LinkSold
Invalid Image Link
You say you want a website for your personal or professional needs. Well, wait no longer. I've used Google to create the first Google-based intranet for the State of Nevada, and I can help you to get your site off the ground.

Here's the exciting part: We'll build the first 5 pages together, and I'll show you how you can expand the website on your own. You'll be able to do this. It's simple once you know how. You don't need to have it, but if you want to have a special URL, like http://www.monbed.com I'll also help you to get one. For this, you'll need to invest about $10/year, and charge it to your credit card. We will do this at a date to be mutually determined.

Special Option: If the bidder wants to allow others to pay the same price and participate in a workshop instead of having my exclusive attention up to five people may participate. Each will need to pay the same price as the successful bidder and be present on the date and time that the bidder and I set.

Poetry Workshop for Children ages 5 to 15
Invalid Image LinkInvalid Image Link
I'll be using a website, along with a number of stuffed animals to help each of the children to write a poem(s) during the workshop, which will last between 60 and 90 minutes. When they are done, they will have a poem(s) that they will be proud to say that they wrote.

Full description will be in the catalog.n also help younger children. You are also welcome to attend with your child and write a poem. Don't worry about being over 15. After all, I wrote the poems on the website, and I've had several poems published in poetry magazines.

Will be held at UUFNN.
