Donor bought it a few years ago at Dastkar Ranthambhore, a not-for-profit NGO established in small Indian village in 1980s as a income generating project for resettled villagers (focus on women) displaced by the creation of Ranthambore National Park as a tiger sanctuary. Project focus is to help artisans convert their traditional craft skills into a means of employment, income generation & financial self-sufficiency. Woodblock printing is a ancient Indian printing technique, utilizing a hand-carved teak wood block that is dipped in dye and stamped by hand onto cotton or silk. Note: The attached picture is only a small segment of tablecloth to better show pattern. During my stop at Dastkar I met the creators of tablecloth. Although tablecloth was cheap, the experience was priceless. Hope bidding will be high in the spirit of supporting the creators of this lovely piece. | The brownest of brown thumbs can grow this biennial (Oenothera) but it should not be grown by everyone. It is an aggressive spreader, which is why I have plants to give away, but it is easy to control by pulling up extra plants. It produces rosettes of leaves the first year and flowers the second when it blooms in May. You will get a clump of rosettes that will yield flowers.
