Join your hosts Marjorie Wormser and Jerry Weinstein for a wine tasting exploration of the Iberian Peninsula via Zoom. We will present two white wines, two red wines and two dessert wines from the Iberian Peninsula (Spain and Portugal). | Revolutionary Roads Driving Tour |
Did you ever wonder what America looked like in the 18th century? Robert Erskine, Surveyor General to the American Army 1777-1780, left hand-drawn maps. This is a booklet for a self-guided tour, approximately 2 hours, exact roads still unknown, distributed by July 4. With teams of horses, wagons and chains, Erskine and his men surveyed the existing roads in and around New Jersey, providing intel for George Washington and leaving us a record of the past. While writing a biography of Erskine, Carol Johnson has been studying the maps, driving the roads, and searching for original structures. The tour booklet will be provided on letter-sized paper or emailed as a document for you to print yourself. Milkweed is the host plant for the Monarch Butterfly which is facing a serious population decline. In fact, Milkweed is the only plant that Monarchs lay their eggs and feed on. There are a variety of types of Milkweed, many which are native to this area. Milkweed needs to be planted by seed over the winter so that the seeds undergo a process called cold stratification. You can plant the seeds in your garden, in a nearby meadow, or a park. Any planting of milkweed will help the Monarch!
