Virginia Beach in June! 4 Nights at Beach Quarters Resort, Oceanfront Studio
Invalid Image LinkInvalid Image Link
Four terrific nights in an oceanfront studio at Beach Quarters Resort in Virginia Beach, Fri-Tues, June 19 to 23. King bed with kitchenette with dishes and oceanfront balcony (essentially a large hotel room but right on the ocean). Swim in the oceanfront heated indoor pool, unwind in the hot tub, or soak up the sun by the rooftop pool. This isn't the fanciest resort on the beach, but it's a pleasant way to get your sand and sun.

Winter Soup Swap and Luncheon
Invalid Image LinkInvalid Image Link
What’s a soup swap?

Soup Swaps are very similar to cookie swaps that are held during the holidays, except you’re exchanging soup instead of cookies! The great thing about soup is that it’s easy to make in big batches and freezes well. That makes it ideal for a soup swap!

Each winning bidder will bring a quart container of soup for each person attending the luncheon, plus one extra that will be heated and sampled during the meal! Everyone leaves with yummy soup, and the recipes! Once the attendees are confirmed, we’ll provide your 36 oz. containers and a list of the soups everyone is making, to avoid duplicates. Crusty bread and crackers, and a yummy dessert will be provided by the hosts, but the star of the meal will be soup, fun and fellowship.

This luncheon will be held at TVUUC in the Fellowship Hall and Kitchen.

Movie and Desserts! ...Hidden Things....
Invalid Image LinkInvalid Image Link
In 1998, the idea of the government peering into every aspect of one’s life seemed far-fetched and fantastic. Now, perhaps, not so much so. Nonetheless, Enemy of the State remains an engaging, and riveting, and totally fun movie about the government peering into every aspect of one man’s life.

Will Smith is the man, an up-and-coming young lawyer, and Gene Hackman is the grizzled ex-NSA operative who tries to help him prove his innocence of a crime he didn’t commit. Everywhere they turn they find motives hidden inside motives and plots hidden inside the most innocent devices. SO… we shall be serving desserts with things hidden inside (good things, like chocolate kisses, not things like ball bearings!) Think cake with a hidden tunnel of fudge, puffs with hidden cream, truffles with hidden fillings-- all manner of desserts with delicious outsides hiding even more delicious interiors! So please join us for an evening of mystery, fun, and hidden surprises.

We won't hide the date, time, or place: Join us at 6:00 on the 3rd Saturday in August, August 15, in the Lizzie Crozier French Room.

1 CranioSacral Therapy Session
Invalid Image LinkInvalid Image Link
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a light-touch healing approach that can create dramatic improvements in your life!

CST involves assessing the whole body and encouraging the body to release deep tensions in order to reduce pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance. Your body can only handle so much tension before the tissues begin to tighten and potentially affect the brain and spinal cord. CST allows the entire body to relax and self-correct. By freeing the body to perform at its best, CST naturally reduces pain and stress, strengthens your resistance to disease, and enhances your health and well-being. Clients are able to relax while fully clothed and under a sheet and/or blanket on a massage table for the entire session. CST can be used for relaxation or to help with specific issues such as chronic pain, headaches, insomnia, or any stress-related issue, including post-traumatic stress. Some clients have even reported trippy experiences and visions, including one who said they saw purple angels and received a message from Jesus during their session!

New York Style Cheesecake
Invalid Image LinkInvalid Image Link
Homemade New York style cheesecake (with 40 ounces of cream cheese!), the closest recipe I’ve found to my amazingly delicious first taste of cheesecake at Rein’s Deli in Vernon, CT in 1973 (they’re still there and well worth a visit if you’re in the area). Serves about 12, depending on how you slice it, of course. We will arrange a mutually convenient time with at least a week’s notice. 1 000050.0 50 .00025E7 25
