Writing a Short Story You just enjoyed reading a short story. Wouldn’t you love to have written it? There it is, something that came from your mind, your imagination. It’s kind of like having a baby, only
you don’t have to wait nine months and it doesn’t hurt nearly as much. (NOTE: Editing can be painful but not that painful.)

This Workshop will meet six times. During the first four meetings, we will discuss the major
technical elements of a story: plot and structure, building the characters, finding your voice and, crucial to all stories, the importance and use of conflict. We will use the last two meetings to
share whatever we wish to share with one another. Finally, we will focus on the value of feedback. We learn more from each other than we ever learn from books and instructors.

Toni Powell is a retired English professor and published author.

1 CranioSacral Therapy Session
Invalid Image LinkSold
Invalid Image Link
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a light-touch healing approach that can create dramatic improvements in your life!

CST releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance. Your body can only handle so much tension before the tissues begin to tighten and potentially affect the brain and spinal cord, otherwise known as your Central Nervous System. CST releases tension to allow the entire body to relax and self-correct. By freeing the central nervous system to perform at its best, CST naturally eliminates pain and stress, strengthens your resistance to disease, and enhances your health and well-being. The client is able to relax (fully clothed and under a blanket) for the entire session. CST can be used for relaxation or to help with specific issues such as chronic pain, headaches, insomnia, or any stress-related issue, including post-traumatic stress.

Dinner with Dorie Greenspan Dorie has lived in Paris for quite some time, and I recently heard an hour-long interview with her on Splendid Table, so thought I’d make a dinner based on her book "Around my French Table," a behemoth of a cookbook! The planning is great fun!!
Please join Allen and me for a four course dinner, with wine, and espresso (decaf) to end our evening.

Georgia O’Keeffe’s Favorite Foods Dinner Every year, Kathy and Neil visit northern New Mexico, where Georgia O’Keeffe lived and found inspiration in her Abiquiu home and at Ghost Ranch. This year we found a cookbook written by her young housekeeper, Margaret Wood, who took care of Miss O’Keeffe when she was in her 90’s. The book describes Miss O’Keeffe’s love of healthy food (a la the 1950’s), based primarily on her garden. We will share our memories and some discussed in the book—and celebrate some of her favorite recipes. The menu includes Sesame Fried Chicken, Tomato Aspic, Mashed Potatoes with Fresh Herbs, Green Peas and Onions, and Apple Pie Cake with Rum Sauce. We will also have deviled eggs and nuts for appetizers. Miss O’Keeffe may or may not have had wine—but we will. 6 0 000075.0 75 .0005E7 50 5/18/24 6:00 PM

Have You Ever Wanted to Juggle ? Learn to juggle with an experienced juggler starting with one, then two, then three tennis balls. Master juggling 3 tennis balls, and then you have infinite possibilities of juggling other items. (A new can of tennis balls will be provided to the new student to keep for learning and practicing.)

I could juggle 3 tennis balls or 3 different items in size and weight such as a basketball ??, ping pong ball ??, and a scuba diving knife. KEEPING YOUR EYES ON THE ITEM IN THE AIR IS VERY IMPORTANT!

Before multiple sclerosis (MS) juggling was easy, simple, and FUN!!! I have juggled for small groups to congregations.

I would be honored to teach someone(s) the fun in juggling.

Fabric Swap Are you a maker who uses fabric . . . a quilter, a seamstress, an upholsterer, a drapier? Join us at Sherry's house for an afternoon fabric exchange. Bring fabric that no longer meets your needs and take home something you find that gives you joy. While you’re pondering, we’ll share a cup of tea or a glass of wine, some snacks, and good company.  At the end of the party, leftover fabric will be donated to the Sustainable Fabric Workshop in the South Knoxville Community Center. 10 8 000015.0 15 .0001E7 10 2/4/24 3:00 PM
