Ready for the Apocalypse? Not a “Book of Revelations” apocalypse but a natural or man-made disaster that leaves your neighborhood and perhaps the entire region without water or electricity for a week or more… are you prepared for that possibility? What about a wildfire that forces you to evacuate your home with little warning. What do you grab on the way out the door?

Enjoy some light springtime refreshments with David and Jamie as they share the key principles of rational preparedness; display the contents of their emergency “go” bags; demonstrate a variety of ways to store, filter and treat water; and help you decide what “sheltering in place” might look like for you and your family. Top it off with a tour of their front-yard herb and vegetable garden.

Each participant leaves with a multi-page list of disaster preparedness resources – and hopefully the inspiration to start prepping! First Saturday in June, 2-5pm.

Learn to identify the queen, the foragers, nurse bees and drones. Learn to differentiate the honey cells from the brood cells and pollen cells. Learn the difference between honey comb and propolis. This year’s (50th anniversary) meeting continues the tradition of sharing dream experiences including those involving (but not limited to) food. Repast inspired by the Salvador Dali cook book (surrealists, like psychiatrists believed dreams were the royal road to truth), Native American Dreamcatchers, and (our honored guest), the muse of fire with whom we will attempt to ascend the brightest heaven of invention. Expect a Chinese Cowboy ragu on strange noodles, tarragon tai-chi soup, and other attempts to give the shades of things unknown a local habitation and a name, all rounded off with a Caribbean falernum-infused tiramisu or cannoli. 6 0 50 50 11/1/25 6:00 PM

Authentic/Nostalgic Italian Dinner On a recent road trip, Neil and I were inspired by an unexpectedly authentic Italian restaurant in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Best of all, the charming founder is an authentic Italian chef who settled in Oklahoma. The restaurant reminded us of our favorite small restaurants in Cinque Terre on the rugged Italian Riviera coastline and Hester Street in New York City’s Little Italy. We offer this dinner based on our fondest memories (just without the Octopus stew).

Winter Soup Swap Luncheon What’s a soup swap?

Soup Swaps are very similar to cookie swaps that are held during the holidays, except you’re exchanging soup instead of cookies! The great thing about soup is that it’s easy to make in big batches and freezes well. That makes it ideal for a soup swap!

Each winning bidder will bring a 24 oz. container of soup for each person attending the luncheon, plus one extra that will be heated and sampled during the meal! Everyone leaves with yummy soup, and the recipes! Once the attendees are confirmed, we’ll provide your 24 oz. containers and a list of the soups everyone is making, to avoid duplicates. Crusty bread and crackers, and a yummy dessert will be provided by the hosts, but the star of the meal will be soup, fun and fellowship.

This luncheon will be held at TVUUC in the GMFH and Kitchen, just in time for National Soup Day!

1 CranioSacral Therapy Session
Invalid Image LinkSold
Invalid Image Link
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a light-touch healing approach that can create dramatic improvements in your life!

CST involves assessing the whole body and encouraging the body to release deep tensions in order to reduce pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance. Your body can only handle so much tension before the tissues begin to tighten and potentially affect the brain and spinal cord. CST allows the entire body to relax and self-correct. By freeing the body to perform at its best, CST naturally reduces pain and stress, strengthens your resistance to disease, and enhances your health and well-being. Clients are able to relax while fully clothed and under a sheet and/or blanket on a massage table for the entire session. CST can be used for relaxation or to help with specific issues such as chronic pain, headaches, insomnia, or any stress-related issue, including post-traumatic stress. Some clients have even reported trippy experiences and visions, including one who said they saw purple angels and received a message from Jesus during their session!

dinner for 2 at the Oliver Royale or J.C. Holdway [or a 3rd option downtown] We will pay for a lovely dinner for 2 at either the Oliver Royale or J.C. Holdway. Both of these restaurants are famous for their good food and atmosphere, and are great choices for a special dinner like an anniversary. The purchasers will need to choose when they want to go and make their own reservations to assure a table for 2 the night of your special date. [If you want a third option downtown, that's fine, just let us know. We can make the reservation for you in person, as a way for us to make sure we pay for your dinner! :)] 2 0 200 50

I am a foodie and a chef.
When I cook, there's no food left.
Actually that's a little white lie because I always make an Xtra large batch,
Whether it's Grilled Watermelon Salad or Scampi with Pasta homemade from scratch.
I rarely cook the same thing twice,
So choosing my menu this early won't suffice.
In June, I may not be able to find squid for Calamari,
I might stick to Chicken with Goat Cheese Wontons and Tamari.
You're welcome to let me know if you have menu restrictions or give requests to feed your desires and addictions, such as Chocolate Almond Cheesecake, or anything else you'd like me to create.

(Swimming before or after the party is welcomed; maybe you'll play pool badminton with me after dinner.)

Your own Private Pool Party

Have access to a private pool for a children's or an adult party day or evening. This is a volleyball pool, so you can swim laps, fill it to play on both ends. I can put up the volleyball net for volleyball or badminton. I will provide drinks and a light snack. We mutually agree on a date. I have been told several times that this is the auction's best kept secret. I have a really nice shaded (night lit) deck if you want a picnic.

If this is a children's party, you need to be responsible with enough chaperone's.
(Note, no chips or crackers by pool because that creates a steady stream of ants for many days. Adult appetizers with plates are fine.)

Baking Fancy Holiday Cookies Gingerbread snowflakes, guava go-gos, panellets, chocolate ganache thumbprints! Join me for a cooking lesson that is offered virtually by Zingerman’s. My registration is for one device but allows me to have additional participants in my kitchen. I will provide all the ingredients. We’ll bake the cookies with the help of the instructor, and you’ll get part of each batch to take home. Additional descriptions of the cookies can be found at the Zingerman’s Bake! website. Being able to complete everything in one afternoon will require some choreography, so this will be suitable for experienced bakers. I have a cat who may say hi. Tasty nibbles will be available to keep you going through the lesson. The workshop will last all afternoon; plan to be at my place about 12:45-5:30. 2 2 60 30 12/14/24 1:00 PM
