Jungian Dream Night! Learn to "work dreams" by using the projective method
Invalid Image LinkSold
Invalid Image Link
Have you ever awakened from a dream and been perplexed? Some dreams may seem to have a clear meaning while others can leave you with unanswered questions and curiosity. My good friend, Donna Remmert, has been working dreams and studying Jungian psychology for many years. I've gone to a few dream gatherings with her and have learned a little about the basics.

Donna has devoted many years to an informal study of Jungian concepts and she's applied them to most of her pursuits in life as a teacher, journalist, author of three memoirs, wife and mother. She says that Carl Jung's work has influenced every aspect of her life. She is a member and on the Board of Directors for the Boulder Friends of Jung (www.bfjung.com) and she is an active participant in Billie Ortiz's dream group (www.wakeuptoyourdreams.com).

Our event will be a relaxing and fun evening by the fireplace at my apartment. You will learn to help yourself and others work dreams by using what's called the projective method. In addition to Donna's opening remarks, we will have time to discuss some dreams. If you'd like to share one of yours, record it in present tense (I am walking on a mountain trail.....), bring it to our gathering and put your name into our dream bowl for a random drawing.

I will provide appetizers, drinks and dinner at 6pm and we'll work dreams from 7-8:30. It's okay to leave right at 8:30, if you're someone who needs to call it an early night. You are also welcome to stay longer for more conversation, food and drinks.

Switzerland & Bavaria Slideshow
Invalid Image LinkInvalid Image Link
I had the pleasure of going on a belated graduation trip to Switzerland and Bavaria in July of 2015. A friend of mine was living in Switzerland for a year with her husband and two children at the time, and I was able to meet up with her for some adventures before she moved back to Colorado. She ran a half-marathon (and I walked a 10k) in Bavaria. We were in Bavaria for a few days and then took the train together to Bern, Brienz & Lucerne. Come join me for a slideshow and some stories. I'll provide some after dinner snacks and wine...and of course, non-alcoholic options. 10 6 000015.0 15 .0001E7 10 10/10/16 7:00 PM

Handheld or Personal Labyrinths
Invalid Image LinkInvalid Image Link
The labyrinth is an ancient path that is known to have existed for over 4000 years. It is a path that resonates with people in various cultures, faiths and beliefs.

Handheld or personal labyrinths provide a meditative experience when the path is traced with your finger or with a stylus.

We will talk briefly about the history of labyrinths and we will have the opportunity of making handheld labyrinths in both the classical three-circuit and seven-circuit styles.

Second Annual Clothing Swap!
Invalid Image LinkInvalid Image Link
Have you ever looked in your closet and been tired of all the clothes you see? Or items that looked good in the store, but didn't work out? Those items are perfect for a clothing swap!

Bring your gently worn clothes to the church-- accessories too. We'll separate them by rough sizes and see if something that just doesn't work for you can find a new home in someone else's closet!

We'll have some music, snacks, and beverages (maybe even some wine) to make it a festive event. Any items left over after the swapping has finished can be taken back to their previous closets or left behind to be donated.

We had a lot of fun last year with only 8 people-- but the more people who attend, the better range of sizes and variety of clothes we'll have, so come one, come all!

On our recent trip to Ireland, we visited the Skellig Islands off the Ring of Dingle. We'll show our stroll among the thousands of puffins, and our exploration of the ancient stone "beehives" of the Irish monks. Further to the north,we hiked out to the end of the basaltic Devil's Causeway, studied the murals of Belfast, and the walls of Londonderry.

After everyone tires of green, green, green, we'll show some slides of beautiful Brittany and the fabulous Mont San Michel.

Following the show, light dessert and coffee will be served.

A cooperative brain. Hands on workshop on neurobiology & choice.
Invalid Image LinkInvalid Image Link
This will be a great morning (9am-12pm) for learning, fun and bonding.

Hands on workshop exploring the connection between our neurobiology and how it feels to be us. Begins with a description of the brain and nervous system and some ideas of how it relates with the emotional or spiritual body.

Folks will be asked to do a simple 'check in' with themselves and then we will transition into a silent exercises, in which participants experiment with art, meditation, play, writing and more. The workshop concludes with a small group break out and discussion time.

(This is an expanded version of the talk I offered at the summer retreat. Including a much more extensive exploration of modalitites that help us affect change in our neurological patterns. The material will be new enough people could enjoy both)

STIMULATING CONVERSATIONS WITH DESSERT I have been co-facilitating formal conversation groups for about four years. Here is the format:

Each person contributes two topics for discussion, one serious and one light. The first person draws a topic and each member of the group has two minutes to respond. Then we open it up for general discussion. We go around the room alternating between serious and light topics.

Example (Serious):
What is your opinion of the USA/Iran agreement?

Example (Light):
Who was your celebrity crush when you were in high school?
