Lin Jovanic, a Grass Valley UU member and life-long UU, is offering her Airbnb accomodation for two or three nights. The listing on Airbnb is called Beautiful Relaxing Place, Downtown Grass Valley. The house is a 10-15 minute walk to Downtown Grass Valley and right near Condon Park with its miles of trails. The Nevada County Fairgrounds is a 10 minute walk away. The space is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. There is a well-behaved little dog and two chilled out cats. You will have a quiet bedroom and private bath at the end of the hallway in a modern house. There is a queen bed and a table and chairs to sit comfortably to work or relax. A closet area is available with two robes to use during your visit. Guests can relax in the spacious living room and out on the deck with a view of the lower garden, and Lin will be there to greet you and give you a code for the door. There is also a sitting area in front of the house under the pine trees to enjoy a beverage or talk about the day, and a lower garden in which to stroll and sit. Guests can use the kitchen to cook or get have coffee and tea or a water glass, but no meals are provided. The dining room can be used for eating meals you might want to bring in. UUFNN members Marti Benjamin and Len Mayo are offering a 3-night B&B style adventure at their home in Rosarito Beach, Baja Mexico. Located about 30 miles south of the US Border in a private community, their casa overlooks the Pacific Ocean and Coronado Islands. Included in your stay is a full breakfast each morning and an afternoon light snack featuring Mexican regional cheeses and local wines. Available are 2 bedrooms with one shared bathroom and shower. One bedroom has a US sized queen bed and the other a Mexican sized double bed (snug for 2 larger gringos to share). Has a full-sized shower, hot water heater, and washer and dryer. While there are no stores or restaurants in our neighborhood, the streets are walkable and there is access to an uncrowded sandy beach, which stretches 4 miles at low tide. Between Rosarito Beach and Ensenada (about 60 miles south) a 4-lane highway skirts the coast providing access to other beaches, famous surfing spots, well regarded restaurants and the emerging wine growing region Valle de Guadalupe. In addition, both Rosarito Beach and Ensenada are worth a visit. Marti & Len are happy to share the information they have acquired about all of the above, as well as how to successfully navigate the border. While the address is Mexico, the climate is coastal Southern California which at times includes fog and cool ocean breezes; plan accordingly.
