Film and Lunch Come see the film that won two Academy Awards and the Golden Lion Award at the 75th Intenational Film Festival. Produced and directed by the man who gave us another award-winning film, "The Lives of Others." This one is titled "Never Look Away." An admirer called it astounding and fantastically gripping. It's about the life of a young man from childhood to adulthood, and the events in his life that inspire him to be an artist while struggling to find a calling in life. Little does he know that the events of the past are what are influencing him in his current life.

Snacks will be served at the beginning, and a hearty lunch will be served after, at about 3:30.

Ken Druse and Louis Bauer Garden Tour Join Ken Druse and Louis Bauer at their home in Hampton Township for cocktails and a garden tour. Their garden, in a plant-driven naturalistic style, is on an island in the Paulinskill River. Ken is a celebrated lecturer, award-winning writer, photographer, and author of 20 garden books. He has produced features for every home and garden magazine, and The New York Times. In 2013, the Smithsonian Institution announced the acquisition of the “Ken Druse Collection of Garden Photography,” comprising 50,000 transparencies. Ken is currently teaching special Zoom webinar sessions with Margaret Roach, and is a monthly guest on her radio show and podcast. Additionally, The Garden Club of America presented Ken with the Sarah Chapman Francis medal for lifetime achievement in garden communication. Louis Bauer has been the curator of the Flower Garden, and manager of the Tropical Greenhouse Collections, at Wave Hill public gardens in the Bronx. He was hired away by The Garden Conservancy to be the founding director of horticulture and oversee the development of Greenwood Gardens as a new public garden in Short Hills. A decade later, he was brought back to Wave Hill as director of horticulture, where he remained until his retirement in 2021. Meet at the Fellowship, at 3:45, to carpool. Jim's Beer Night So I bought a couple of cases of beer for the minister’s welcome dinner, and very little of it got consumed. Please join me for an afternoon or evening of good conversation, good company, and, of course, good beer. (Participants must be 21 or over.) The average price of a beer at a local bar is around $7, so if you come and have a couple of beers, you’re ahead of the game! Date will be determined once we have a guest list. We can meet in the Fellowship hall, unless someone has an alternative suggestion. 15 15 000000.0 0 .0001E7 10 6/10/23 12:00 PM
