UUMC Presents: The UUCM Mad Hatters Annual Auction
"Show me the money!"

This year's auction committee chairs are: Peter Kent and Sheila Donovan. Email auction@uumarblehead.org

Welcome!

Our auction is an important fundraising event for the church (and always a fun party), but it is also a great way to bring people together. Do you have a special talent or skill or a unique item to donate? Can you host a dinner? Does this sound like a fun project to be involved in? Then you've come to the right place!
Yikes! The auction is only -3338 days away, so it's too late for changes to your items to get in the printed catalog, but please make corrections anyway - they will still appear on statements and bid sheets.
The Catalogs are Ready! Pick one up at the auction table in the Holyoke Room, and use it to plan your bidding strategy. We'll have them available at the auction too - Please share with a friend.

Fresh eggs courtesy of our hens. This year our hens Eliza, Celia, Dorcas, Adeline, Ophelia, Violet, Victoria, Ester, Annabelle, Carl (long story), Sophie, Daphne, Rachel, Muriel, Myrtle, Roxanne, Betsy, Della, Hazel, Blanche, Rosalie, Wilma, Marie, Emilie, Ruby, Edna, Evangeline, Chuck (Yes Chuck, sometimes a name just sticks!)Chuck Too(and sticks again) Rachel and Mavis have, after much discussion, again voted to support the TVUUC auction with a donation of their eggs. Elisha, the senior rooster, who has a non-voting advisory role also agreed. Tiberius the junior rooster tried to vote and was told by Eliza who was chairing the meeting, his mother Dorcas and several others to sit down and be neither seen nor heard. The other three young adolescent roosters, Ralphie, Roger and Harold are still too intimidated to speak but we have heard a crackled effort at a crow so that will probably change soon. Do understand this is a worker run, family egg production collective and the short days of winter are the traditional time that hens vacation from egg laying, Thus, exactly how many eggs are available on auction night will depend on how many hens feel so moved as to leave vacation and lay. On auction night, you'll receive a basket with either a dozen actual eggs and two coupons for a dozen more each or a basket with less than a dozen and three coupons. In whatever form they arrive, in total our chickens are offering you at least three dozen eggs from hens with names who have never heard of factory farms or battery cages and, except for the occasional pecking order issue (which can usually be traced back to Celia), live quiet, pastoral lives pretty much in line with the 7 UU principles.
